ROCK works directly with the Hale family, so we know who is raising these birds and how they are being raised.

The birds receive supplemental feed that is non-GMO, soy-free, and corn-free. Those are simple details, but they tell you something important about the decisions being made long before the turkey reaches your kitchen.

Thanksgiving is one of the few meals where the whole bird sits at the center of the table. We think that makes it worth knowing who raised it, how it was raised, and what it was fed. With Windy Meadows, we know the answers.

Why the exact weight comes later

Windy Meadows is targeting an average processed weight of about 18 pounds, with most birds expected to finish around 17–21 pounds. That range is an estimate because each turkey grows differently, and its exact finished weight is not known until processing.

The 17–21 lb. range is not a guaranteed size. These are individual pasture-raised birds, so final weights will naturally vary.

01 Before the Bird

Before it becomes part of your family's Thanksgiving, it has already been part of theirs.

Mike and Connie Hale started Windy Meadows in 2001 because they wanted truly good chicken for their own family. What began at home grew into a family farm that now raises poultry for families across North Texas.

The important part is that the food never became anonymous along the way. There are still people behind it — people doing the feeding, watching the birds, making decisions, and taking responsibility for what leaves the farm.

02 Built as a Family

The work did not stop when the children grew up.

Mike and Connie built Windy Meadows alongside their eight children on 42 acres in East Texas. Over the years, many of those children have returned as adults to help care for the birds, manage processing, serve customers, and carry the work forward.

03 What Gets Passed Down

Thanksgiving is full of things a family carries forward.

A recipe. A prayer. A story that gets told again. The person who always carves the turkey. The way everyone finds their place around the table.
