We added these sourdough bread crumbs for one simple reason:

We couldn’t find a bread crumb we actually trusted.

We were planning dinner for the week (wild-caught salmon and boneless chicken breast) and went looking for something clean and honest — a breadcrumb with minimal ingredients that we’d feel good about feeding our family.

What we kept finding were long ingredient lists, fillers, oils, and “extras” that didn’t need to be there.
Then we learned something that felt almost too obvious: a lot of people make bread crumbs from real sourdough.

So we tested it.
We reached out to Raylinda at The 5th Loaf (the same partner who makes our sourdough) and asked if she’d be willing to do a small test batch using her organic artisan sourdough bread.
